24 hours up a tree.

As if we don't spend enough time up trees already, I have decided to spend another 24 hours in the uppermost branches of an 80' Beech at The Langdale C of E primary school in aid of Unicef. I was working out the other day I have spent approximately 20,000 hours (over 2 full years) of my life climbing trees so I decided I should mark the occasion by spending a full day in the top of a tree.

Having spent some time travelling around India on a Royal Enfield 350 bullet motorcycle I saw first hand children younger than my daughter (5Yrs) running between cars in busy streets to beg the occupants for money to survive. Homeless and with little hope it was heartbreaking to see and I didn't know who was helping (if anyone), and how I could help. I came accross "The long way round", the travels of Ewan Mcgregor and Charley Boorman and became aware of the work UNICEF were doing internationally for children discarded by society. I felt Unicef would be a great charity to donate any money raised due to the fantastic work they do. HOORAY!!!! We've done it.

I'd like to say it was a pleasant expeience but unfortunatly it rained for the full 24 hours (seriously) and the wind really picked up in the small hours of the morning. I was pelted with wet sponges to ensure I was properly soaked on my descent, but it was all for a great cause.

I'd like to say a big thankyou to Allan and Lindsey for weathering the elements below in a tent and a big thanks to my partner Laura for all the organising she has done.

If you would like to donate please click on the justgiving link above, and thanks to everyone who has sponsored me.
